The Firm of Chamberlain and Viau, a professional law corporation has two members each of whom
possesses a broad background in education, experience, activities, and achievements. They are:

John P. Chamberlain


Founding member of Chamberlain and Viau, a professional law corporation, began his legal career as a US Air Force Judge Advocate where he advanced from trial counsel to Military Judge and Chief of International Law for a major Air Division.

After leaving the military he started his practice of law in Santa Ana, California. In 1985, he merged his practice with Suzanne Viau’s practice also located in Santa Ana, California, and formed Chamberlain and Viau, a professional law corporation, moving it to Newport Beach, California in 1989.

Some of his other achievements include obtaining a lifetime teaching credential in law and real estate in the California Community College System where he taught part time for several years. In addition he has lectured, written and appeared on television often regarding matters of business, taxation, estate planning. Also, he has his Mediator Certificate from the University of California at Irvine, California.

He served as a member and chairman of several non-profit groups. His most notable position is as Chairman Emeritus of the Orange County Taxpayers Association having worked on several bills designed to improve the tax structure in California.

Mr. Chamberlain is a graduate of the City University of New York at Brooklyn College where he did honors work in Economics. He received his law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

SUZANNE V. CHAMBERLAIN

Suzanne V. Chamberlain

Founding member of Chamberlain and Viau, a professional law corporation, began her sole practice in Santa Ana, California, after an associate position with an Orange County firm. In 1985, she merged her practice with that of John P. Chamberlain’s, also located in Santa Ana, and formed Chamberlain and Viau, a professional law corporation, moving it to Newport Beach, California in 1989.

She is an Attorney Settlement Officer for the Federal District Court, Central District of California, and a mediator for the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District. She has lectured and written on matters relating to dispute resolution and mediation and has her Mediator Certificate from the University of California at Irvine, California, as well as, many advanced courses from Pepperdine University’s Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution.

She is currently a Director of the Orange County Bar Association, having previously served as Chairperson of its Law Practice Management section and of its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) section. She served for several years as the Continuing Legal Education Editor of the Orange County Lawyer magazine, and currently co-chairs the OCBA’s Administration of Justice Committee.

A California real estate broker for many years, Ms. Chamberlain is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine where she received her degree in Social Ecology. She received her law degree from Loyola Law School at Los Angeles.
